All In One SEO Pack No Longer Supported

Update: All In One SEO Pack has been picked up by another developer. Read more here.

The news has traveled across the blogosphere today. One of the most popular and useful WordPress plugins, “All In One SEO Pack” is no longer supported by its author, uberdose.

It is official as the announcement has been posted on the WordPress.org homepage of this plugin:

“This plugin is no longer supported or maintained.”
All In One SEO Pack

For now, the plugin is fully functional and compatible with the latest stable release of WordPress, 2.5.1, but since it will no longer be updated, that could change with future releases of this blogging platform.

While the news is most unfortunate for many WordPress users we could still look on the bright side of this. Now it’s the time for plugin developers out there to provide the community with a new resource, one that can make history and help us better optimize our blogs.

This is not an easy task, but like most great things, it’s not supposed to be. So, what do you think fellow developers? Are you up to the task?

The king is dead, who will rise up to the challenge?

  • Funny, I just installed this three or four days ago and thought that I read then that the pack was no longer supported. I could be wrong.

    Great site, I’ll be back!

  • Oh, that’s really bad. Maybe a similar plugin will be developed before a Wordpress releases a new version.

  • I use Headspace2 + Robots Meta for SEO
I think they’re better than All In One SEO Pack
(I used to use it quite long time ago so I don’t know about its current capability)

  • That’s unfortunate. It’s a nice plugin.

  • Like MoneyEnergy, I just install this plugin few week ago. I really enjoy, and it’s a bad news, but like you said, it’s a challenge for the open community to responce and keep offer a good and quality alternative for this great plugin.

  • I’m currently working on a new analitics plugin (it’s an experiment for local analitics that doesen’t kill the database with lots of updates and inserts) and on a performance plugin for wordpress … but this would be a challange. Maby i’ll give it a shot. :P

  • I’ve never liked it anyways. SEO Title Tag plus a few manual SEO tweaks have always done it for me.

  • its a bad new… but it really didn’t work too much for me, because i m writing in Greek and this plug in didn’t support the Greek characters..

    (very nice blog!!!)

  • Oh, I’ve just found out, the plug-in will asctually be continued. Here: http://weblogtoolscollection.c.....-lives-on/ .

  • For some reason it doesn’t work for me. I am not getting ranked like I should be for the keywords that I have been using.

  • The All In One SEO works great, however the plugin won’t choose the tags for you. You need to put your back to it, do a brief keyword research and than come back and say that it doesn’t work.

    For an example @Chris:
Your site is using just this for title tag:
“Bible Devotions | Christian Devotions” this is NOT enough of information

Second example, your current theme is, forgive me but I have to say (junk) there is way too much CSS Stylsheet outside of the Stylesheet

    also this:

You seem to have different stylesheet for each page, that is way too much junk my friend.

The site under my name is just random site I’ve found that runs on All in One SEO take a look.

Also All In One SEO is not dead. http://wordpress.org/extend/pl.....-seo-pack/ this guy took it over
