Im visiting here after a while and you have posted so many great new articles!
I have never developed a theme from scratch before but for a new site I am creating, I need to develop a highly customized but simple theme that converts a blog into a company profile page. Since I want things to be consistent across several blogs with this theme, I want the theme to only be editable through an options page in the dashboard (where they can add company name, address, other details).
Can you recommend:
A good basic theme to start with to make theme development easier?
Some resources/tutorials (except the wordpress documentation) that teach how to create and use a dashboard options page for a theme?

When I was new to wordpress and blogging I loved those option pages…but now that I am more experienced and pretty much customize every theme I use they really aggravate me. I hate digging around in includes files or a mess of different css stylesheets and image folders.

Well i like Word press themes but the thing which i don’t like or may be the problem will be at my end that it takes so much time to load the theme .. i don’t know where is the problem if any one else facing the problem or knows the solution of this problem do let me know..
