Free WordPress Themes Watch: Too Newsy
Although not a day goes by without someone putting out there another WordPress theme, days like this one, when I see one theme that truly impresses me, don’t come that often. On January 26th, Performancing.com, in collaboration with Sophia Lucero, launched the “Too Newsy” free WordPress theme, and this is one theme you should definitely check out.
Too Newsy
Too Newsy is a very clean 3 column WordPress theme that does excellent use of space, colors an typography. I’ll say it again: I love the typography of this theme. The two sidebars are widget-ready and the theme has built-in support for gravatars and threaded comments. The download files are available in two versions, one for WordPress 2.7 and the other for WordPress versions prior to 2.7.

Don’t know why it reminds me of A List Apart … guess the typography kinda.
Doesn’t impress me much tho.
Stefan, indeed this theme has some ALA feeling to it. You know what impresses me? The fact that it’s not dedicated to those looking to clutter their blogs with ads, widgets and stuff. This is one theme that would actually make you write, run a blog for the fun of publishing. That’s the feeling I get from this design. Yup, I’ve been impressed, so I guess it’s a matter of taste!?
I like it. It does it job (meaning it is so clean you can spot anything). It is kind of a mix from ALA and blogsessive

The layout is very good and the typography is good as well. The text color could be improved IMHO, it’s not what I would call easy on the eyes. However, it’s a fine good kickstart for a more advanced theme.
